THE HEALTHY FOOD OF THE WEEK IS…

SPROUTS
Sprouts are skinny little things, but they are packed full of vitamins and minerals which every healthy body needs

WHAT ARE THEY?
• Alfalfa
• Mung bean
• Snowpea
• Radish
• Broccoli

WHY ARE THEY GOOD FOR ME?
• Sprouts are living plant seeds and are packed filled with vitamins B and C.
• They have twice as much magnesium, potassium and calcium than spinach.
• Eating leafy green and unprocessed vegetables can improve digestion, detoxify your body and increase your concentration and energy.

BUY THEM:
• Look for fresh, crisp sprouts and avoid any with a grey or brown discoloration at the shoots.

STORE THEM:
• Sprouts must be refrigerated and have a shelf life of 7 days.
• To prevent them from drying out, ensure the snap-top lid is kept shut or store in an airtight container.

SERVE THEM:
• Boost the nutritional value of a garden salad by adding a handful of alfalfa sprouts.
• For extra goodness and crunch in your sandwich or wrap add a handful of sprouts.
• For a quick and tasty meal, add a handful of sprouts to your favorite stir-fry.
